What the diagnostic buys, and what it does not
Both lists in full, because the second one is where surprises usually live.
Included
- Travel anywhere inside the normal service area.
- Time on site to isolate the fault, however long that takes.
- Measurement rather than assumption: pressures, resistances, continuity, temperatures.
- A written diagnosis naming the failed component and the part number.
- A written estimate for the repair, if a repair is worth doing.
Not included
- Parts. Those are quoted separately, at the price on the estimate.
- The labour to fit them, which is also on the estimate before you agree to it.
- Work on any appliance made by someone other than the one manufacturer we service.
- Anything outside the appliance: cabinetry, gas supply beyond the connection, house wiring, ducting runs inside a wall.
Nothing is ordered on a verbal maybe
You get a written estimate before any part is ordered or any labour is billed. It names the part, the part price, the labour and the lead time. You can take it away, sit on it, or take it to somebody else — the diagnostic bought you a real answer and the answer is yours.
If a panel comes off and the fault turns out not to be what the estimate assumed, work stops there and you get a revised number before it resumes. An estimate that quietly grows on the invoice is not an estimate.
When the honest answer is that the appliance is not worth repairing, that is what the written diagnosis will say, with the part price that led to the conclusion.
